A former residence of Lord Baden-Powell, Stone House nursing care home is a wonderful property set on four acres of beautiful landscaped grounds. The house was originally built in 1862 and has since been sympathetically converted into a residential nursing home for 35 residents.

At Stone House, residents receive around the clock nursing care, delivered by an extremely professional team of highly qualified nurses and carers. A tailor-made and constantly evolving care plan, involving both family and friends and medical practitioners, allows us to offer very effective and well-received assistance.

ACCOMMODATION

All bedrooms are newly furnished with residents’ preferences on décor always accommodated where practical. All bedrooms come equipped with electric beds, call bells, televisions, wireless internet, telephone facilities, with walk-in shower facilities in many.

Whilst all rooms are fully furnished, the care home does encourage residents to bring with them familiar pieces of furniture to make themselves feel at home.

FOOD & DRINK

Dining at Stone House is designed to be a pleasure both socially and gastronomically. Our chef uses fresh produce, sourced from local farmers, butchers and fruit and vegetable suppliers. Our menus are designed to be nutritious, but of course aim to reflect what our residents tell us they most enjoy, and with plenty of choice always on offer. We have scored 5 stars with the “Scores on the Doors” scheme, and a food hygiene rating of ‘Excellent’.

ACTIVITIES

We take an interactive and holistic approach to activities, giving as much one-to-one stimulation as possible. Creative arts, games and reminiscence therapy are always very well received. Organising entertainment from lectures to singalongs and arranging visits to local places of interest keeps our full-time activities coordinator very busy.

MEDICAL

A General Practitioner visits the care home near Aylesbury weekly, although residents are welcome to retain their own G.P if they so wish. In collaboration with a local pharmacy and GP practice, residents will have access to whatever prescriptive requirements they may have.

PERSONALISED

The home provides other services including; Chiropody, Hairdressing, Optician, Audiology, Physiotherapy, Concierge, Chauffeur and Function rooms. A multi-denominational church service is held once a month and individual clergy are welcomed at any time.
